Disabled people who've had difficulty using public buildings, facilities and services such as shops, transport and websites may benefit from a new 10-year strategy to improve accessibility and promote equality.

A global foundation helps people who are significantly impaired by a physical limitation in their daily lives, and helps improve their integration into the wider society and economy.

With 80% of people with disabilities – more than 400 million – living in poor countries, much more still needs to be done to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage that most of them currently face.

• Disability - 20 countries have ratified a first international convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.

• Dignity/Disability - there is a growing need to provide employment to people with disabilities, to help them live with dignity. Exclusion of the disabled results in an estimated loss of 1.94 trillion to global GDP.
