Activism/Poverty - recent anti-poverty rallies broke the world record for coordinated public demonstration on a single issue, with an estimated 116m people participating in 131 countries.
Activism - individuals travelling to developing countries can now find out (and suggest) schools, charities and communities that need equipment and can "stuff their rucksacks" accordingly on departure.
Civility -many, not just conservatives, now believe that encouraging the old-fashioned notion of "character" may be a key to some of the most entrenched social problems.
Ideas - people come up with lots of new ideas everyday, but nothing happens to most of them, leading to so-called "ideaicide".
Slowness -
like the green movement. the slowness movement is gathering pace more from outside pressures such as economic downturn and rising prices, than from individual pro-activity.
